At the MCG Advanced Materials Division, if something doesn’t meet our exacting safety standards, we put a stop to it. No matter the cost or operational implications.

We care about our employees and their families, our local communities, our customers, and our partners. That’s why safety is a way of working for us, embedded in everything we do and who we are.

As a company, we strive to create a safety culture where each employee believes they have a personal duty and responsibility for their own safety and health as well as the safety and health of others. A culture where everyone recognizes and believes that nothing comes before their personal safety and the safety of those around them.

Our mantra, ‘Nothing Comes Before Safety’ means that safety takes priority over everything else and is at the core of everything we do.

Cultural initiatives

From the MCG Chemical Business' Basic Safety Rules to our 'Safe Start' initiative in North America, to our European culture development program, our global training programs inspire behavioral changes that drive us to think about safety before we act, reducing the risk of injury both at work and at home.

Risk assessments

Work site hazard analysis, on-site inspections and audits are some of the ways we involve all levels of our organization to engage in identifying at-risk conditions and at-risk behavior so we can relentlessly pursue eliminating them through hazard controls, automation and human assist technologies.

Integrated global systems

We strive to provide efficient, fast ways to access the vital safety information needed for decision making at all levels. Our Global EHSQ system provides worldwide access to information for all sites including dashboards with leading and lagging indicators. We’re implementing other tools and technologies to enable faster decisions and higher engagement, helping reduce human involvement in incidents.

SAFETY ZERO PROGRAM Celebrating our safety goals

Our internal Safety Zero Program recognizes company sites that have maintained an injury-free environment for one year or more.

We’re well on our way to realizing our goal of all sites globally qualifying for a Safety Zero Award.
